Syracuse Field Hockey (6-1, 0-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) fell to No. 10 in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Poll Tuesday. On Friday, SU lost its first game of the season to then-No. 9 Duke, 4-0, before bouncing back to defeat Wagner 5-1 at home on Sunday.

After dropping four spots, SU is now the fifth-highest ranked program in the ACC behind No. 2 North Carolina, No. 4 Louisville, No. 5 Duke and No. 6 Virginia. Prior to its loss last week, Syracuse was one of just four undefeated teams in the top 20, but only No. 1 Iowa and No. 7 Rutgers are without a loss entering Week 5. All seven ACC programs were ranked in the top 20 for the fourth straight poll.

This Friday, the Orange face the Cavaliers in another top 10 matchup. UVA currently has a 5-3 record and is coming off back-to-back 2-1 losses to then-No. 14 Boston College and then-No. 5 Maryland. Three of the Cavaliers’ five wins have come over ranked opponents, however, as they defeated Penn State, Saint Joseph’s and Harvard, each by a one-goal margin.
